Are you paying your advertising agency too muchIs your advertising agency involved in your day to day operations or are they just creating and placing your media? Are you allowing them to keep 15% of your hard earned media budget for a few hours of work each month? Are you holding them accountable for measurable metrics like, website visits, units sold, newsletter sign ups, store traffic, and social media engagement? I had the opportunity to participate in a local media event yesterday and I was reminded that what we do here at Forest Home Media is highly unique in a Good Old Boy town of advertising media agencies. At Forest Home Media we work very closely with a small group of clients. The best way to describe it would be as an outsourced marketing department. We also work on a monthly retainer. That way we are making marketing decisions based on results NOT on media commissions. These old school media types are still pushing their client’s ad dollars towards traditional media because that is where they make THEIR money and where they are comfortable.

Times have changed. The last five years have seen the largest shift in consumer behavior in our lifetime. Measurement metrics like cost per point have no real affect on the bottom line.
