Forest Home Media – HGTV Urban Oasis Influencer Event

Forest Home Media is honored to work with them again on an epic influencer event. Our team first work on the HGTV Smart Home in 2014, built by client Carbine & Associates in Nashville.

Home lifestyle influencers from eight states traveled to the HGTV Urban Oasis influencer event where signature cocktails, nibbles and amazing music was enjoyed and incredible music on the back porch by the talented duo, Kat & Alex.

Here’s more on the home from HGTV, created by design favorite Brian Patrick Flynn.

This modern refuge tucked away on a bustling city street is not your typical Southern home but rather serves as a blend of the traditionally timeless and cosmopolitan all within a contemporary structure that fits right in with the trendy, up-and-coming Nashville neighborhood.

Our audiences will appreciate the light-filled interiors with a fashionable country music flair. Inclusive touches allude to the diversity of the city from reinterpretations of female artists’ album covers to imagery parading the walls with color. These cohesive accents – from paint to décor to accessories – bring the vision of each room together. A beautiful bank of skylights allows natural light to flood in, enveloping the staircase and drenching the upstairs bathroom with sunlight.

Downstairs, neon LED signage greets guests upon entry adding a playful nod to honky-tonk culture and the legendary music industry that was born here. Just off the dining room, a custom-built banquet incorporates an original plank of wood from a pew of the historic Ryman Auditorium. In the kitchen, Food Network enthusiasts will enjoy the high-gloss cabinets, large eat-in island and wow-worthy storage solutions designed by expert organizers, Pinch of Help. French doors lead from the cozy living room to an outside porch peppered with plants, fun + functional outdoor seating and Broadway-inspired bistro lights.

The home commemorates Nashville by featuring historical undertones and museum-like experiences including a floor-to-ceiling Hatch Show Print gallery wall, vintage instruments display, a garage mural painted by famous muralist Kelsey Montague, and a jam room loft that pays tribute to legendary music and radio personalities like Dolly Parton, Elvis and Minnie Pearl.

November 15, 2020 By Nancy McNulty Leave a Comment

In a year with so many cancelled plans, the Birmingham Home & Garden Inspiration Home influencer event was a welcomed and inspiring adventure. This show house will be open through November 29. Below you’ll only find vignette photos with the full home featured in the magazine’s upcoming issue.

Birmingham Inspiration Home

Inspiration Home

Hosted by long-time blogger friend, Beth Bryan, Unskinny Boppy, the stunning Southern Cottage was built by Willow Homes in the Homewood area of Birmingham as an infill build. With Nashville-area blogger/tastemaker Beneath My Heart, we grabbed our masks, socially distanced and found some clever hand-sanitizer courtesy of CBM Design, mother-daughter upstairs bedroom designers.

The home, already under contract prior to opening, is 3,400 square feet, five bedrooms with the owner’s retreat on the main level.  It really lives large with a wall-sized sliding door weaving the charming courtyard with the gourmet kitchen.

Crisis Content Messaging And PR Tips

November 15, 2020 By Nancy McNulty Leave a Comment

*This blog originally appeared on The Southern C blog in March 2020 by contributor Nancy McNulty, owner/president, Forest Home Media.

On the night of March 2, deadly tornadoes swept through Nashville devastating lives in a matter of seconds.  By Thursday of that week, the first coronavirus case was confirmed by Tennessee’s governor. Rightly so, the way in which public relations and social media is conducted is changing drastically.

Content And Messaging In Times Of Crisis, Forest Home Media

Messaging Sensitivity In Times Of Crisis

For my company, Forest Home Media, one client’s entire four state operation was on an annual awards cruise in the Bahamas and a second client was hosting a media/ influencer event that week unveiling a new partnership with Martha Stewart.

Forest Home Media assisted California Closets TN launch of the Martha Stewart new product line.

Immediately, all Facebook scheduled posts were reviewed for any sensitivity issues while any cruise celebration posts were postponed. At the end of the cruise, several groups got off the boat and went to work for Nashville.  This was shared immediately.

For the media/influencer event, California Closets Nashville unveiled the new Everyday System designed nationally with Martha Stewart. However, a giveback element was added with donations accepted at the event for the Red Cross and a percentage of any future sales in March are earmarked for tornado recovery efforts.  This was reflected in email blasts, during the event and event follow up.

This all sounds so elementary but, spending any time on social media, frivolous posts remained and felt very tone deaf. But, this is only the beginning.

Crisis Social Media

As our country faces this pandemic, each company and person can play a role. The news outlets are handling the crisis updates and social media channels monitoring for misinformation.  Take a look at your company or brand and determine any positive energy you can inject into your social media posts. Right now, people are looking for comfort and hope.

For the home industry, we’re focusing on things that can be controlled by the individual like the peace of mind found in an organized and clean home with stories soon appearing with California Closets Tennessee as a source.  For my other clients, we are highlighting ways to safely expend energy, make your environment comforting and healthier while spending quality time with your family.

Consider these elements to weave into your messaging:

-Encourage social distancing by highlighting in-home projects which bring comfort.

-Create hopeful social media posts.

-Acknowledge the present while planning for the future.

-Determine if your company offers an alternative or activity for isolation.

Public Relations Positioning – Carmen Johnston Gardens

Now is NOT the time to back away from public relations.  Smart business owners are evaluating ways to strengthen their company’s operations and positioning themselves for post-crisis business while determining any relevant role they might play in this current situation.  Here’s an intriguing example.

Moments away from launching nationally an Alexa, Google Home voice assistant initiative, garden lifestyle expert Carmen Johnston is redefining her public relations messaging.  Preparing to launch her spring gardening and DIY projects with Alexa and Google videos, we are working with Carmen to evaluate her role in this crisis and what positive contribution she can make. Her intriguing, pioneering moment with Alexa and Google will still happen; it will be pitched and revealed a bit differently. Check out this demonstration on Nashville’s Talk of the Town.

What we know for sure is social distancing and self-isolating is critical and we are all going to try to fill our time constructively. Carmen is preparing to launch a series of home garden activities for the entire family; activities which can be done to provide stress relief, be a positive use of energy and a creative outlet.  In her lessons from the garden series, she has created content for the next 14 days from creating a beautiful project to brighten up the home to self–care ideas like hydrating drinks and hand moisturizer. She’s emphasizing health tips beyond washing your hands.  Follow her on Facebook and Instagram for full details.

Find A Role

It is definitely better to give than receive and one of the ways we will all survive this crisis mentally and emotionally is if we spend our time trying to make the lives of others better.  Today is the day to check in on an elderly neighbor by phone.  Engage your neighborhood Facebook group to determine any needs of folks with existing health issues.  And, be clear on how you can bring light.

Sloan Valley Farms Launch – Estate Home Community

October 5, 2020 By Nancy McNulty Leave a Comment

In a year when so many things have been cancelled or postponed, Forest Home Media has been thrilled to support our very busy home industry clients including the Baird Graham Company’s launch of Sloan Valley Farms in beautiful Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee.

BGC has made a name for itself in building stunning homes throughout the Nashville and Franklin area.  Forest Home Media assisted in the company’s website relaunch, reactivating Instagram and the announcement of the new estate home community including a video overview.  Here’s more on the exciting new community.

Launch of $27 Million, Leiper’s Fork Estate Home Community

FRANKLIN, Tenn.—-(September 23, 2020) Weaving a community of fine homes in a historic Tennessee hamlet, developer and builder Baird Graham has broken ground on the estate home neighborhood, Sloan Valley Farms, located in Leiper’s Fork outside of Nashville.

An homage to the original owners, the George Sloan family of Steeplechase fame, Sloan Valley Farms, off Carl Road, is comprised of nine home sites surrounded by multiple acres and created in collaboration with notable Southeastern architects and interior designers said Graham.

“Sloan Valley Farms is the culmination of a dream to create a community of well-crafted homes with distinct architectural styles surrounded by the privacy and beauty of the Middle Tennessee hills,” Graham said.  “The site prep for the neighborhood has been completed and we are pleased to release renderings and details on the first four homes.”

Graham is collaborating on the first four homes with top Southeastern architects including:  Catherine Sloan, Catherine Sloan Architect, Nashville, Jeffrey Dungan, Jeffrey Dungan Architects, of Mountain Brook, Alabama, and Chris Reebals, Christopher Architecture & Interiors, of Birmingham, Alabama. Sloan is creating two of the first four homes.  He is also working with talented interior designers Rachel Halvorson, Rachel Halvorson Designs, Lauren Moore, Modern Remains, and Joanna Goodman, Christopher Architecture & Interiors.

“The land the homes will be built on is spectacular and our team is bringing a depth and architectural beauty to each home with a caliber of excellence and uniqueness, setting Sloan Valley Farm into a league of its own,” Graham said.

Sloan Valley Farms overlooks 80 acres of protected wetlands and is adjacent to Murphy Fork Creek.  Graham said the homes are each surrounded by acreage ranging from six to fifteen acres depending on the home site – all with incomparable views, beginning at just over $3 million.  The neighborhood Realtor of record, Kellen Moore, Helton Real Estate Group, said the project represents an over $27 million investment in the area.

“The Nashville area has not seen anything like Sloan Valley Farms in years and it is an unparalleled opportunity to have an incredible home in a stunning neighborhood while being a few miles from Leiper’s Fork, historic downtown Franklin and within five miles of Interstate 840,” Moore said. “Baird is an incredible builder and his passion and sincerity make each of his homes unique.  Partnering with top architects and interior designers make Sloan Valley Farms a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

The design continuity of the neighborhood will be English Country with Southern accents helping it weave into the Leiper’s Fork architectural landscape using a variety of materials including stone, cedar shake and slate roofs.

“The home sites provide options to overlook a pasture or be wrapped by hills as well as two homes situated on a bluff.  This is an extraordinary opportunity for peace, privacy and a slice of paradise within a quick ride to Leiper’s Fork, historic downtown Franklin and the interstate,” Graham said.

For more information on the future Sloan Valley Farms homes, contact Moore at 615-948-0376 and visit www.bgc-construction.com to learn more about the neighborhood and home sites.
