From building a home for a wounded vet to helping Moldavian orphans, our Forest Home Media clients are at the top of their game and helping others at the same time including launching a bullying prevention campaign in partnership with the Nashville Predators.
Months in the making, at Friday January 17 news conference, Students Taking A Right Stand launched a proactive bullying prevention campaign in partnership with Nashville Predators’ player Colin Wilson with support from WKRN’s Dawn Davenport, Justin Bruce, Neil Orne, Audra Martin, WSMV’s Kacy Hagerty, NewsChannel5’s Lelan Statom, Aundrea Cline-Thomas, NPT Volunteer Gardener Co-host Troy Marden, Predators radio play-by-play/102.5 The Game co-host Willy Daunic and Great American Country’s Stacy McCloud and our first country music artist to sign on – Julie Roberts. (Note, if you want to lend your voice to this campaign, please contact us ASAP).
Key to this campaign was a public service announcement filmed at the Predators’ practice ice in Nashville and produced by their stellar communications department. Here’s a look at Colin’s PSA with STARS Kids On The Block puppet, Mark Reilly, challenged by cerebral palsy and a wheel-chair which doesn’t slow him down in teaching kids kindergarten through sixth grade about differences of all kinds.
Area media began promo’ing the news conference Thursday night based on the media advisory and then followed up with coverage by ABC, NBC and CBS affiliates.
The Sunday Tennessean printed two columns FHM helped generate on the campaign from Wilson and the students Lauren Jernigan and Laurelle Campbell who conceived the campaign idea. Here’s the overview produced by Forest Home Media explaining the campaign.
In Phase II, we are seeking out area notables to lend their support to a second PSA in the Bee A Friend Campaign. The folks above have signed on to be a part and talented director/cinematographer Armanda Costanza has volunteered her services to produce it. (Her credits include the hit ABC show “Nashville.”)
Another interesting aspect of the campaign is requesting area youth to send in their own 2 to 4 minute videos explaining how they have implemented the Bee A Friend idea to win a Hunt Brothers Pizza Party, dessert & more.
With a full roster of home-industry related clients, Forest Home Media lends their PR support to nonprofit client Students Taking A Right Stand as well as volunteer work with a variety of causes including ALIAS Chamber Ensemble, the missions of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and Miriam’s Promise.
And as John F. Kennedy paraphrased Luke 12:48, “to those whom much is given, much is expected.” Go out and make a difference!
