TOP TIER INTERIOR DESIGNERS FROM ACROSS THE U.S. INCLUDING BARCLAY BUTERA, VERN YIP, AMONG OTHERS WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE CONCEPT HOUSE DEBUTING IN OCTOBER 2019

(New York, May 16, 2019) – House Beautiful today announced its line-up of interior designers who will contribute to the magazine’s second annual Whole Home Concept House in Nashville, Tennessee. The nearly 6,000 sq. ft. home will be constructed in the English Arts and Crafts style and created in partnership with Castle Homes. Interior designers Amy Berry, Barclay Butera, Joy Huber and Rachel Haag of Castle Homes, Chenault James, Dani Arps, Tavia Forbes and Monet Masters of Forbes+Masters, Kristine Paige of Jackson Paige Interiors, Matthew Quinn and Richard Anuszkiewicz of Design Galleria Kitchen & Bath Studio, Lauren Moore, Evan Millard, and Betsy Trabue of Modern Remains, and Vern Yip will each provide their design expertise to create a home that is beautiful and with the intention to promote happier, healthier, and smarter living. The Whole Home Concept House will debut in Nashville in tandem with the brand’s November 2019 issue, which hits newsstands on October 17, 2019.

“At House Beautiful, we believe your home should work for you – bringing you joy, helping you reconnect with family and recover from external stresses,” said Carisha Swanson, Senior Editor and Market Director. “This house will illustrate these concepts through layout, product, and inspiration, providing actionable ideas that readers and visitors can implement in their own homes. I look forward to seeing this exceptional group of designers bring these ideas to life and transform these spaces into more than just beautiful rooms.”

Each of these designers were chosen because they believe in the power of home and its ability to set the tone for our daily lives. They will contribute to the following:

  • Amy Berry will take hold of the two children’s rooms, with her sophisticated eye towards creating playful spaces that promote activity and creativity.
  • Barclay Butera will create an outdoor oasis to help homeowners reconnect with nature and promote enjoyment of the great outdoors.
  • Castle Homes interior design team will handle the architectural design details along with the five bathrooms and laundry space.
  • Chenault James, in a nod to her bourbon-based Pappy Van Winkle roots, will design a dining room fit for year- round entertaining.
  • Dani Arps, the master of designing commercial spaces for startups, will create an office that brings the sensibilities of today’s modern workspaces into the home.
  • Design Galleria Kitchen and Bath Studio will provide a master bath that doubles as a spa retreat and design a kitchen that can handle meal preps and family dinners along with late night entertaining.
  • Forbes+Masters are crafting a listening lounge as an ode to Music City. This music room will rival any moody night club and is the perfect place for putting on old LPs or trying your hand playing a vintage guitar.
  • Kristine Paige Kamenstein will construct a master bedroom that promotes rest and recovery, as well as intimacy and reconnection.
  • Modern Remains will deliver a top floor media room that acts as a central zone for game and movie nights, plus they are creating a breakfast area off the main kitchen.
  • Vern Yip takes notes from his book debuting later this summer, “Vacation at Home,” by turning the entry and living area into a space that invites conversation and connection in a thoughtfully designed setting.

House Beautiful will take their audience inside the home with an exclusive web series launching on HouseBeautiful.com when the issue hits newsstands. Each episode will focus on a single designer and showcase the before, during, and after of their design process, including decision-making, design plans and shopping for the home. The web series will also offer viewers a chance to hear first-hand how designers solve problems, including repurposing rooms that are rarely used, and how to create a private home office to maximize work productivity.

“The House Beautiful editorial experience is always about beautiful rooms,” said Jennifer Levene Bruno, VP, Group Publishing Director/Chief Revenue Officer. “What makes this project special is that we are producing beautiful rooms with purpose. The concept of this house is to create a magnificent home that contributes to your wellness, your peace of mind, and your sense of place. This is why we are so proud to unveil the designers who are contributing to the 2019 Whole Home Concept House.”

House Beautiful’s 2019 Whole Home Concept House welcomes returning partners Signature Kitchen Suite, LG, Benjamin Moore, Circa Lighting, Architectural Grille, Rocky Mountain Hardware, and Stressless, along with new partners Caesarstone, Castelle, Grothouse, Kohler, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, Tempur-Sealy and The Tile Shop.

Follow along at www.HouseBeautiful.com and on Instagram and Twitter @HouseBeautiful.

House Beautiful’s Whole Home Concept House will be open for tour daily October 18 through November 3 in the historic Belle Meade area of Nashville, Tennessee.  The beautiful English Arts & Crafts style home will promote happier, healthier, and smarter living and is being built by Castle Homes in partnership with ten designers from across the United States benefitting the Nashville Symphony. Gorgeous English Country House – Castle Homes’ Parade House

October 17, 2017 By Nancy McNulty Leave a Comment

Using historical inspiration with a fresh modern day approach, Southern Living custom builder Castle Homes has created a Contemporary English Country house for the Nashville Parade of Homes open daily for tour through October 22.

Southern Living Idea House

Castle Homes, Southern Living Custom Builder of the Year, was selected to build the Idea House at Fontanel in 2013.

You’ll remember Castle Home’s work from the 2013 Southern Living Idea House at Fontanel with interiors by Phoebe Howard and Forest Home Media serving as a member of the PR team headed up by PR pro Jennifer Zawadzinski.

Castle Homes was selected for the national build after earning Southern Living magazine’s 2012 Custom Builder of the Year.

Inspired By 20th Century British Architect

Castle Homes is participating in the premier Nashville home tour unveiling a home inspired by noted 1900s British architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, designed in collaboration with local architect C. Kevin Coffey, with interior design by Castle’s in-house designers and interior styling by Rozanne Jackson Interiors with The Iron Gate furnishings and decor.

“Castle Homes creates houses of architectural integrity by taking historic inspiration with a fresh perspective which you see when you step into the open floor plan home with incredible custom finishes,” Castle Homes President Alan Looney said. “We take very seriously our goal of contributing to the architecture of Middle Tennessee.”

Clever Home Ideas

Building Inspiration

Castle took the craftsmanship of the home to the next level with a delicate tracery ceiling in the study, custom powder bath vanity and a scalloped hood for a Wolf range which showcases new gold and silver knobs – a departure from the traditional Wolf red.

Don’t Miss Elements

The home has several don’t miss elements including Bunkara day beds in a casual den, a golf simulator where you can play courses around the world and Rasmussen FireBalls, an alternative to traditional gas fireplace logs. The stunning home is complete with a beautiful array of succulents and floral décor created by Nashville designer Tim Riffle, previously featured in Nancy McNulty’s column on The Southern C.

How To Create Engagement Around Your Event

July 8, 2015 By Nancy McNulty

Music City has a new signature home event launched in June by 2012 Southern Living Custom Builder of the Year, Castle Homes. There was a whole lot of PR wonderful in this latest Forest Home Media project and here are some of the great ways to create engagement around your home lifestyle industry event.

Event Hashtag & Contest

As we had introduced for the holiday Parade of Homes, we suggested the launch of a dreamy Instagram account for the award-winning Nashville area custom builder and remodeler to help engage the legions of photographers, bloggers and visitors touring.  And, yes, a hashtag contest perfectly complemented this effort as well. Check out all the great pics on Instagram and more via #NashSymphonyHouse and give @CastleHomes a follow!

Engage New Technology

In addition to working with all Nashville and regional media, we also went international using Periscope for a variety of fun moments which were live stream broadcast. One of our favorites was a wrap up interview with interior designer Julie Couch and floral & succulent designer Tim Riffle after their on-site segments with NewsChannel 5’s Talk of the Town. Here are the TV segments we helped coordinate as well as the fun Periscope recap.

Tim Riffle, Tim Riffle Environments, weaves some succulent magic with NewsChannel 5’s Talk of the Town’s Tuwanda Coleman.

Red, white and fabulous with Julie Couch, Julie Couch Interiors, was also taped at the Nashville Symphony Show House with News Channel 5 – Talk of the Town – Tuwanda Coleman.

Our Periscope recap with the talented Couch and Riffle was the first Periscope for each and we used it as a great way to talk about live on tape TV interview tips.

Find A Cross-Promote

The cross-promote is one of our favorite tools when weaving a project into the conversation of a community. A cost-free opportunity we used before and during the tour event was the Tennessean’s Sunday builder, designer and architect profiles in the real estate section.

Also, in April, I was asked by Franklin Life to submit a recipe – yes, we love all things food, home and garden! The awesome editor allowed me to weave upcoming projects into my bio.

Franklin Life featured FHM partner Nancy McNulty’s favorite blueberry salsa recipe & listed the Nashville Symphony Show House as an upcoming project #crosspromote!

We used an informative Periscope also as a cross-promo for the Nashville Symphony Show House. Periscopes not loaded to our YouTube channel have been added to the video section of our Forest Home Media Facebook page making Facebook oh, so happy with original video content.  This also uses the Periscope in multiple-ways, a favorite technique of Forest Home Media when generating content for marketing.

Our first Periscope broadcast was a test run at the Nashville Symphony Show House, promoting the upcoming event by Castle Homes.

Another dreamy cross-promote and the ultimate was being featured on the cover of two area magazines. The fab folks at Your Williamson magazine used the Southern Contemporary Folk style home as a backdrop for their May salute to area matriarchs. It was such an honor to host these wonderful women. The magazine also included a great story on what’s cool, new and different with the upcoming premier home tour! #CrossPromoteHappiness.

Pre-Event Photos

Finally, it is never easy and sometimes hard to communicate to clients and event participants how important pre-event photos are in creating excitement.  We do a lot of front-end PR loading for an event and then encourage opinion leaders and visitors to carry the conversation forward during the event supplemented with advertising.

The pre-event photos are created during the chaos of construction with a lot of people including the photographer on ladders and knees to get the perfect shot.

This year, we earned a lot of great media stories including the cover of Greater Nashville House & Home with a terrific preview of the upcoming event creativity of the builder, designers and architect.  You have to be prepared to have fresh content ready based on magazine deadlines or you miss this entire important vehicle.

Media & Bloggers On-Site Events

One of the HUGE and we mean REALLY HUGE days was the sneak peek tour and garden party for area media and home bloggers. Our talented friends Carmen Johnston, of Carmen Johnston Gardens and contributing garden editor for Southern Living mag, joined us with PBS Volunteer Gardener Troy Marden, who signed and gave participants a copy of his latest book, “Southern Gardeners Handbook.” A beautiful tea was prepared by iconic Miss Daisy King.

So many gorgeous blogs were created by the talented community of home, food and garden bloggers. Forest Home Media once again hosted a live Pinterest party in the kitchen of the Nashville Symphony House. Before, during and after, we broadcast fun Periscopes where we talked about areas of the home highlighted by the bloggers. During the live Pinterest event from 7 to 8 p.m., we pinned beautiful images from the blogs while getting to discuss them simultaneously with folks on the Pinterest board created for the fun, engaging event. Another element we love is being able to capture for our clients a snapshot of the great profiles of the home event while exposing these talented bloggers to a new audience.

Pinterest Board, Live Event, Nashville Symphony Show House

From engaging society photographers and traditional media to weaving wonderful Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter and Facebook moments, Forest Home Media is pioneering for the home, food and garden industry a full-circle experience which has so many positive, lasting effects for the talented folks who are smart enough to take advantage.

Next up for Forest Home Media, we joined the virtual party launching our friend Lucy Farmer’s national appearance on HGTV Beach House Flip. It premiered on Sunday, July 5 and we were thrilled Team #Laphney won the first master bedroom competition. Find out more info on this talented jewelry artisan at Lucyinspired, who was also featured in the May Southern Living magazine! #GirlOnFire

We’re heading to the Haven Blogger Conference in Atlanta and can’t wait to share the latest in what’s cool, new and different! #WeLearnWeShare
